I know Troy, I was always told a bad day fishing is better then a good day working so I took the last half of Thursday off and gave it the old college try. You can't catch them from the couch and with this cold air coming in it might be a while before I can get back down.

I had a very large boddied buck in my back field yesterday that did not have anything on his head. If I get a chance this weekend maybe I will take a walk.

We are going up early saturday morning. If you have not been to it before it is worth seeing. There is also a ton of very good speakers. This year I have found out they also have a swap meet right there close that is full of guys selling used epuipment so we might try that out also. If you go be patient it get pretty packed at times and kind of reminds you of saturday at the deer and turkey expo.

Pretty cool. Love some of the underwater footage as well as the reaction when he shoots the buck. It is nice to watch a natural reaction instead of some of the rehearsed stuff you see on tv.

Thanks for the kind words guys. These fish are truely amazing animals that leave you tired and scratching you head but once in a while you get the ultimate high. If you have not tried them yet I would strongly suggest you get out and give it a try!!

I thought bluegills were considerd a sport fish as well and alot of people use them for bait? Just wondering becasue I would love to be able to be able to find some decent live bait. Do you catch them in lakes or rivers, not looking for a spot just a direction.

What is the difference between an sand pike and a saugeye(sp) and how big do they have to be to keep. I would love to get my hands on some of them to use as live bait for muskies.

Either musky breath guide service or one of the good ones on st. clair. However I have a one track mind that revolves around muskies right now!!!!

We were casting, there was one other boat on the water and part of the way through the evening we talked to them and they had caught one small fish, about 34 inches, on a figure 8. We tried jigging and found several nice fish on the graph but were unable to get them to eat. All three of the fish that I got to eat I actually saw take the bait and only one was at boatside. The first fish we saw was the one I caught, it missed on the fist strike and before I could even hardly react it came back and slammed it. Three cast later I saw a decent fish grab the bait and jerked it out of his mouth without getting a hook in it. A few cast later I had one follow to the boat and miss it in the first turn of the 8 causing it to flair and not come back. After that I gave dad that bait and started throw something else. On his first cast with it he had one following in and got hung on a snag. About fifteen minutes later I got a single follow that I thought was going to eat because it staying in the 8 for SEVERAL turns but lost interest. With the exception of my two biggest fish it was probably my most intense moments musky fishing.

I am still surprised Terre Haute has not gotten an urban deer Zone. Vigo, Parke, and Clay all 8 antlerless counties. That means I can shoot 24 does within 2 miles of my house!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got on the water about 1 and fished until about 7:30. It was slow for the whole time except one 30 minute intense feeding window. In thirty minutes we moved five fish, got three to eat but unfortuately only got one in the boat. Luckly it was probably the largest of all the fish we saw. It was a FAT fish right at 45 inches long. I actually caught that fish and lost two more in less then ten cast in one small area. We will be back down in the next couple of days.
