Did you do any good Fever. I would think with the front that just came throught that the fishing would be tough today. It is supposed to be a very hot mid week bite this coming week and I have already planned on taking at least one day and probably two days off work. Also what were the water temps, last time we were down there they were about 51.

I am very familiar with this particualar situation. I hunt the woods all around where these tools were camping and until I filled my tag was hunting the largest of the bucks they poached. This is something that has been going on for years and they just finally got caught. Where they were camping is probably about three to four miles from my house in north eastern vigo county.

We took the new boat out on bass on sunday and got our butts handed to us. I think we got hung up on half the stick ups in the stupid place and the wind just made it that much more fun. I did manage to get one small follow right at dark and he flaired so quick I did not even get him into the 8. Might try to make it back down this weekend considering my dad and myself both already have our buck tags filled.

We have not been up there since last spring. Would like to make it up there in the next couple of weeks if dad can get his buck tag filled. I talked to Chae a few weeks ago and he said it was still a little slow but he thought it would be picking up any day. How did you do?

Greendog My partner canceled on me at about 11:30 the night before because he was out drinking an knew he would not be able to wake up. I tried to send you a text on the way down but the only number I have is your boys and for some reason the text would not go through. I actually tried multiple times. Send me a phone number that I can get you on because I am sure that it won't be the last time I have someone with something to do at the last minute. I also have gooseponds email but it was a last minute thing.

I went solo on sunday and saw two fish, neither one would eat. Was going to go back either monday or today and had to go out of town last night and just got back home. It has been pretty slow down their for me lately but like you I will be back. Some good consistant weather would definately be a bonus though and it does not look like we will be getting that anytime soon.

Goosepond, send me your contact info and there may be a time this fall when I am looking for someone to go with. I have all the equipment just need a partner from time to time when the old man can't make it.

I can assure you I was not intending to talk negative about the deer. You asked what you thought the deer scored and part of the score is deductions. The point off the right base is going to be a deduction as well as the right g4 and the large difference in the g2. He may push into the 160 gross but will not score that because of deductions. Regardless of score he is a dandy that to me does not look like that old of a deer. I would not hesitate taking the shot if one was presented and hope that you are able to give us an exact measurement in a couple of weeks. Good luck.

I have been certified to measure deer for over ten years and have put a tape on a ton of deer. Considering he has short ones and is only a nine pointer(main frame 8) it would be difficult for a deer to reach the numbers you have posted. He might surprise me but for me it looks like he would be hard pressed to get to the numbers you think he might. Regardless he is a heck of a deer and would look good on any mans wall. Good luck with him this fall

Good news if you were wanting to head down to bass and chase some toothy critters. The highest water temp we could find on the lake last night was about 79. Most of the lake was around 78. Moved two nice fish and two small ones. Also had one take the whole tale off a mag bullbog and not get a hook in his mouth at all. Felt great to be back down there and I look forward to "living" down there this fall.

I am sure that no one on this site would do this but just thought I would send out a friendly reminder. I was at bass lake this week chasing my favorite critter and the place has trash all over the place. I picked up a fair amount but did not bring trash bags with me and was running our of places to put it. The state provides us with these areas to use and we as adults and decent human beings should take care of them. Next time I go I will be taking a few trash bags but it still make me SICK!!!!!!!!
