5 Hours in a hot ground blind today and I saw 1 button buck......3 times. So much for "prime time." My back hurts, my neck hurts,....I'm getting back in a tree tomorrow no matter how hard the wind is blowing!

I'm surprised you still have wood ducks hanging around. I figured they would have all headed south by now.

That's the first time I've ever just saw 1 by it's self on that pond also. I kept trying to get a good close-up of him....but every time I zigged...he zagged.

My grandma had a lone shoveler hen on her pond a week or so ago. I figured someone shot her drake and she was looking for a friend among the wood ducks.

Well the sinuses have went south on me again so I spent the majority of the day doing nothing and tomorrow looks to be the same. What an awesome time for this to hit! Really aggravated right now.

According to Field & Stream, today is the best day to hunt the rut in 2013. We shall see.

Go figure! I've already lost count of how many times I've sneezed today. That was also my alarm clock this morning as well.

You didn't miss anything, Lee. There was NOTHING moving this morning around here.....not even the squirrels. I bet things are gonna go nuts after this cold front moves through.

I had my extra stand and climbing sticks loaded in the truck and was planning on taking them to my "honey hole" over on Hillenbrand, but my daggum back just isn't up to it. Guess I'll tough it out around here. It concerns me that I'm not seeing any does(the bucks are where the does are now!) They had been hitting the acorns and what's left of the beans pretty hard, now they've moved on to something or somewhere else.

*Maryland Update* My dad smoked a doe this evening... Double lung putting our kill total up to three for the year. Not a huge doe but she will help fill the freezer, he said she and about five other doe came in and had a nice buck running em' (he already used his buck tag on a nice 200 pound seven point).

Just got a text from a buddy in Linton who said he saw the most deer today that he's ever saw in his 29 years of hunting. I don't get it!!
