Got off work at noon and packed my stuff up, and hurried off to the lake. Stopped at Bruce's bait shop for some beemoths and was pleasantly surprised to find that he knocked out the wall between the bait shop and the old pizza diner to expand. Cool! Got on the water at 2:30 and worked my way along the north shore with a pink head/white body jig, tipped with a waxworm. The bite was hot, when I found them. No big gills but lots of average 7-8". Turned around to face into the wind and caught a crappie. I immediately switched to some leftover minnows from a week ago, mostly dead, and caught four crappie in a row including an 11.5" off the surface as I was reeling in to check my bait, and a couple legal bass. Thought I was gonna slay em, but they migrated and I lost them. Moved around and caught a few more bass and a handful of gills. 6:30 rolled around and the wind picked up, decided it was time to go. Ended with about 2 dozen gills, four crappie, and 6 bass. Kept a dozen for the freezer. What a day for mid February! Spring can't come soon enough. It's gonna be a great year.
I have a few photos but I'll have to post them later. I despise using photobucket. Are there any IMG hosting sites that don't blow my screen up with ads?

It probably won't happen, but I've still got my fingers crossed that they hand it over to the state.......
Sucks that it's getting parceled up. But, who knows. Maybe that means the state will still get a piece of it. A week ago I finally broke my record scratch-off ticket, making a whopping 5 bucks off a $5 ticket. Don't think I'll be winning that 6.3mil anytime soon.
