I'm not saying dont protect yourself, or your land and animals for that matter. But the whole " i just dont want them around here " feeling, is what got them into a species threatening situation in the first place. I agree that they could really mess up peoples plans, but thats why we have Conservation efforts set into place, such as "HUNTING SEASONS" and Conservation officers. If something becomes a big enough problem for the community or landowners, they have the right to take care of that problem. Be it shooting the mountain lion, or finding alternative ways like professional pest control, but just saying THEY DONT BELONG, and killing them just because they crossed your land is not the answer.

horrible story, but it is a sign that their numbers ARE increasing. After all, they nearly went extinct what with man taking all their land. Glad to see he survived, but also glad to see the Mountain Lion survived. Not saying I'm rootin for the cat, but just that, its a MOUNTAIN LION! thats what they do! People just need to be a little more cautious, especially if theres any inclination of one in ther area. He SHOULD have stayed in his stand when he seen it, and called for someone (preferably 2 people) to come get him.

Sounds like an AMAZING trip planned. I can't exactly say I'm JEALOUS though. I would LOVE the fishing, but I aint exactly one of "THOSE GUYS" that like goin out where there's $h!t big enough to eat me. Your lucky enough to get me to go swimmin in my OWN pond, LET ALONE go out on a dingy in the frikkin OCEAN! GOOD LUCK though and HOPE THEY HAVE FUN! Maybe you can lend them YOUR camera Troy...Just food for thought.

that really does NOT look too fake to me. If you watch the ground next to his feet closely, you can see the shawdow of the balls EVERY time they come to him. It would take ALOT of time to sync those shadows with the speed of the "FAKE" ball every time around.
