Nice work fever.I was down there the first 3 Saturdays of October.First day was major frontal conditions only 2 follows.Second time was the 4th day of stable wheather best day i have had there in awhile,15 follows 4 hook ups and 3 fish made it into the boat. A 34,36 and 40 incher. Does anyone know if the DNR is still stocking? I had a couple of follows of fish that were only 18-24 inches. Did not think those hybrid fish could reproduce.

We flu out of Nestor Falls which is on Lake of the Woods.Nestor Falls has 10-12 lakes that they own.We flu into Clear lake which is about 200 air miles 4 days there then they picked us up and took us to Kay lake for 3 days.Kay lake is only a 10 min. flight from base. Clear lake is walleyes, northerns and lake trout,Kay is smallmouth trout and musky. Both lakes are managed as trophy lakes.Kay lake had a little mention on linders angling edge for musky. The people who own Nestor Falls outfitters are good friends with the linders. It was cool to see the cabin we stayed in on the tv show.

I was there 3 weekends ago and they were biting good.I got two in the boat and lost two due to my drag set to tight. The two fish i lost were on glide baits. It always blows me away how fish of any kind can get all those treble hooks out of there mouth. The two boated were caught on a spinner bait with a pink curly tail grub on the back of it. Both fish were 38 inches and the lost ones were in that same range. All fish but one bit on figure 8.It is so awesome to watch those big fish eat your bait right at the boat.I think once November hits they go pretty deep.I've never done any good past October.

Hey goosepondmonster I have been fishin that creek for almost 20 years there are some pigs in there. I'm pretty sure that fish was guarding fry.I saw a coulple good ones in that area a couple days before you.I dont know how far down stream you go but there are some good pools down stream.I mainly throw a wacky rig in that creek but have caught them on anything but a tube.Cant get one to eat a tube so i dont even jack with bringing them any more.My PB is a little over 4 lbs in that creek.Best day was 8 fish in the 2.5-3 lbs.Dead of summer is the best bite in the heat of the day.

If you had a 8" average size you are doing well on monroe. There are big ones out there, but you have to weed through hundreds of small ones for every one big one.I caught two fish at those docks that went a pound and a quarter each in late october early november. I didnt measure them but would put them in the 12-13" range.I have caught big ones out on the main lake while bass fishing. On another note when you go to those docks you should take a pole that will handle wiper.I was fishing there one time this year and had wiper come right up into the boat slips smashing small bluegill. It scares the crap out of you when it happens right in front you.

Hey bowhunter i live across the road from paynetown and fish those docks alot. I have been out fishing the people with live bait probably 20 to 1 no joke. I use little shad type body soft plastics on 1/16-1/8oz. jigheads. The third set of docks in from the main lake are the best.Dont be afraid to throw out away from the docks in the deep I have caught some walleye there this year.Last time i was there the weather was a little better and i had a limit in less than a half hour. I stayed there for about 2 hrs. and stopped counting at 75. Hope this cold snap didnt lock jaw them to much.

Just wanted to share this report with this forum. My name is Eric.I live in Bloomington and have always wanted to get down to bass lake and only fish for muskie.I am mainly a bass guy but have always wanted to do this.I bought a hand full of lures a little over a year ago and spent last sunday Oct.9th doing just that.Me and my buddy was on the water at 7:30 and by 9:30 I landed my first muskie. It was 41inches long and really thick. Two hours later and I had one follow to the boat.It would not take on a figure 8.Two hours after that I was hooked up again. The battle only lasted 15-20 seconds before the the fish spit the lure.It was a great day and for sure beginners luck.
