Awesome. Can't wait to see the place. It's been almost 2 years....you need to get down there!! I can't believe it has been almost 2 years already! Geesh, time flies.

Might have to start squirrel hunting down there. At least that's what I'm guessing chewed a hole in my seat.

Newest addition to the Astor fish camp! This will be nice to keep down there so mom and dad don't have to bring there's back and forth. Not a bad price at $129 when you get the burner and everything at Academy. I'm bringing my small Dutch oven down too to use to fry fish. Now if we can figure out how to catch our own crabs and shrimp we'll be set!

Academy should really love me! Details to come but we'll have a fleet of yaks in Florida now.

How many boats does one man need? One man needs one, but there will be 6 of us down there in June! Gail bought these 2. I was thinking about picking up another cheap one down there but we went in Academy to kill some time the other day and Gail liked these. They're both Pelican ICON 100XP Angler models. They have the nice seats but they stay in one position. Hoping to pack a lunch and paddle out to an island on the intracoastal waterway for the day when we're down in June. I'm all for a BB&B southern trip! Allegiant flights are cheap.

Made it. Traffic was terrible once again. I guess everything made the trip...I'll find out when I unpack tomorrow!

Haven't done a lot fishing. It's the monsoon season evidently. We've been hitting the springs and beach between storms. I've taken a rod each time we've gone to the beach and caught one whiting the first time and a spot and whiting the 2nd time. Went to a flea market early this morning then planned on putting my boat in the water finally but now it's storming like crazy again. This is the 3rd year in a row I've been down here this time of year and I think it will be my last. Still showing rain every day of the 10 day forecast.

Hey Greenedog, I've looked in the regs for anything about registering kayaks or permits and I do not see anything. Am I missing something or are kayaks free of any regulations in Florida? We are taking our yaks down to Navarre Beach in October and we're staying on the sound side which should make for great paddling waters. Also, have you heard how the state of Florida feels about consuming beer on a kayak?

Patrick, kayaks don't need any kind of sticker or registration, unless they're motorized of course. As far as drinking goes, they can get you for BUI even in a kayak from what I've read. I would imagine it's a common sense thing, as long as your not causing any trouble I doubt anyone would bother you. I've paddled right past co's and haven't been checked for anything yet.

The difference is, Troy, you look more respectful and honest then, oh say, some others.
