Glad Gail hadn’t hung any of those fish yet. Looks like we’re gonna get it pretty good.

Hope your place survives the storm. My sister has 2 places in Sarasota and my dad rents a place down there for the winter too.

Glad Gail hadn’t hung any of those fish yet. Looks like we’re gonna get it pretty good. I've thought about your Florida place many times the past few days. Hopefully it survives with minimal damages. My neighbor bought a place in Tampa back in April. They haven't spent a single night there since buying it but they were planning on wintering there this year. I'm hoping they didn't sustain much damage but I know it got pretty hairy there. Big storm.

Talked to a neighbor down there today and it sounds like we made it good through the storm, but like Irma, the river is rising. It's crazy that 5 years ago after Hurricane Irma they were calling it a "1,000 year" flood but now just 5 years later they are calling for those river flood stage records to be broken. I'm kinda glad now I didn't pull the trigger on any of the water front properties we've looked at. The value in my place is the property so if the trailer gets wiped out by a flood or a tree it would suck but it wouldn't be that big of a loss. The land would still be worth more than I paid for it.

They shouldn't rate them as years scale like a traditional rain event. It's a freaking hurricane.

The house we almost bought. Looks like Gail’s pontoon boat is still back there.

The road back to our place. Scary thing is that the water is still rising. I think they’re showing it peaking next Tuesday?

Gail is down there now. Looks like we dodged another bullet at our place but lots of neighbors weren’t so lucky. Our next door neighbor had 4 inches in the house. The water is still up and you have to drive through it to get back there. I am so thankful we didn’t pull the trigger on a waterfront property there. The place we had started the process of buying is still flooded and another place we had been interested in also has quite a bit of damage. The pic is the road on the backside of our place. That’s where our easement had been and it looks like all the dirt that guy had hauled in has changed the dynamics of the area. Somehow our place had less water this time but others had it much worse. Even the a-hole that had all the dirt hauled had it worse(karma.) Gail said it looks like there’s water in his fancy pole barn garage. The neighbor next to him was on the local news saying her house was flooded and they were living in a 42’ boat in the canal. Where our easement had been was a low spot, almost like an alley from the road to the canal. Now that it’s raised the water is just setting there. Gail said it’s like driving through a big pond to back in there.

That's crazy that there is still that much water around. Saw on the news there might be another storm headed your way.

Heading back down this weekend. The flood waters must be receding because I got a bill from my mowing guy today. 😅 I had a new sign made for the place…
