The big ones are down there. I got broke off by a big one on Rodmans Reservoir back in the 80's. The next year I landed an 11 lb 9oz hog on a little lake near Orange Springs. Was using a shiner under a float on both of them. I don't bass fish much anymore, since I have changed over to crappie, bluegill and walleye. When you get your 1st 10#+ bass, you'll never forget it. I would love to get one of those big crappie your folks are catching. (And a big shellcracker). Someday, maybe.

Rodman is still producing HAWGS! This was just yesterday, 12# 12oz. Was caught with a guide that dad has used; Captain Sean Rush.

Love it! Your folks will be in their short sleeves this week. I'm hopefully headed out this weekend for Florida and will be there for almost a month.

My sister and her husband went down to Sarasota a couple of weeks ago to check on some painting they were having done on their place. Said it rained almost every day and stuff was growing like crazy. You'll probably find a jungle going on.

Yeah Gail was just down there last month and called me saying the mowing guy wasn’t doing his job. She texted me a video and it wasn’t as bad as I feared so I explained to her that he’s only mowing every 2 weeks but it probably needs it twice a week! 😆 I’ve been down there numerous times during the pandemic but this trip has me a little concerned. My next door neighbor down there(the good one), has it and a friend of his just passed away from it. I’ll be avoiding crowds other than on the plane.

Been in Astor since Sunday. Haven’t wetted a line yet unfortunately. Still having a nice relaxing time. Gail’s oldest daughter just moved from Oregon to Florida and has been staying with us the past few nights. Her and Gail are so much alike it’s been a total laughfest. 🤣 We went to the beach yesterday and I’ve never seen so many sand fleas. You would think that would mean lots of fish but the surf was really clear and I didn’t see anything but minnows. I brought the rods but didn’t get them out of the car. Speaking of cars, the Explorer wouldn’t start. I was afraid it was another bad Sam’s battery but I brought it in and it was still good. Spent 2 days off and on trying to figure it out and finally did thanks to a YouTube video. It was a bad relay switch. Swapped out the one to the wipers to the one for the starter and it fired right up. A trip to AutoZone and $24 I was back in business. Tomorrow’s our last day and I think we’re gonna go to a spring to swim. We have ate so good! Gail’s daughter is a really good cook and we had homemade authentic tacos last night and tonight I grilled up some Odon marinated turkey we had in the freezer.

I maintain that the marinated turkey from Odon is the best thing you can fix on the grill.

Back home and back to work. Nothing exciting to post. I do have a couple weeks scheduled off in early December to fly south and I'll definitely be wetting a line then! We did tour a few new double wides the other day. Starting at $120,000 I think we'll stick with the old single wide!
