I shot this buck Wednesday evening @ 75 yards. He had his nose to the ground trying to cut a hot doe. He responded to a grunt and I hit him in the "stinger" spot with my T/C Omega. Dropped on the spot. Field Photo After caping.

I've been out of town since wednesday, got home this evening to late to hunt but still light. Looked out my back window and saw three deer in our cornfield. Got the binocs and was watching a decent 2 1/2 year old 8 chasing a doe. Well he caught her and I watched my first X rated deer show in person. (sheepishly watched that is )

Things are starting to get better, I hadn't seen a buck on stand all year until Tuesday when I saw a pretty good 8. Tonight I hunted a property that I hadn't been on yet this year, where I missed a good one last year, found his shed in the spring and saved this place until Nov. Well I saw 8 deer, 4 of them bucks. A spike, two young 8 pointers and a pretty decent 8. No big boy though.

One of my students brought this photo to show me off of his dad's trailcam. Not sure if this is Chases' cat but it is in your vicinity. With my next to no computer knowledge this is the best I can do with the picture but if you can zoom in on this photo it shows the cat really clear. Maybe I can get some help from the BB&B boys with that.

With the coming of October it is time to put the razor away for the year. One won't touch my ugly mug for several months now, unfortunately it's doubtful that my wife will either, she's not a fan destinguished look I love this time of year for sooo many reasons

I heard about it Sunday morning at church from a friend of mine from Sullivan. His parents own some property on the east edge of sullivan. My friend is pretty new to deer hunting and this is his first year for bow hunting. He said this buck most likely would have had to cross his parents property and was hit on N section street. Not the first deer to be hit there according to him. He said he has pictures of a big ten and a heavy 8 pointer off of the property so all is not lost. Urban deer hunting must be were it is. Not sure if he had in trailcam pix of that guy. I'll try and find out.

Just got back from Dale Hollow. Not a fishing trip but we did stay in a house boat with a group of friends of ours. There were actually 2 house boats and 4 "go fast boats." I had never been down there before and couldn't believe the size and how deep that place is. A lot of fun on the water and a lot of fun when the sun went down.

I used to play a lot. But as I have gotten older I have had to prioritize due to significantly less free time. Golf has become less and less frequent. Good luck at Denison if you so choose.

I'm not totally opposed to the idea myself. I usually try to take a doe or two. The problem is that i normally wait until late season to shoot a doe because I process myself and want to be able to hang it. This would essentially force me to shoot one early. Of course I don't take part in the urban hunts anyway.

Hey cuz. I'm no handgun expert, or expert on anything that I'm aware of, but I do own a few. I have a Beretta 92 FS Inox in .40 cal for home defense that I like a lot. I also have a S&W model 10, .38 revolver that I picked up cheap. I have a Ruger Super Black Hawk .44 mag with a 71/2" barrel that I thought I was going to deer hunt with (not for sissy's.) And for fun I have a H&R model 999 nine shot .22 revolver. This gun breaks open like a single shot shotgun to load. It is a cool little plinker that I got for around $100. It is my rabbit hunting gun when I'm not very hungry. Your welcome to come look at/shoot anything I have if you want.

I'm pretty much 50/50 myself, when it comes to turkey and deer. The difference for me is that with turkeys you don't know what you have until he quits flopping whereas deer you know before you pull the trigger or hit the release. I couldn't decide so I voted for waterfowl. There is nothing better than when a flock works in to the decoys like they are supposed to, plus you can do it all over again tomorrow

I can see it just fine, the picture that is. I was looking through that clearing for at least a minute before Monty seen that shed. But Monty forgot to tell you how I risked life, limb and manhood crossing that flimsy fence to pick up that shed.

Got one way back in the 1900's. Seems like it was 1986 to be exact and cost me around 75 bones. Monty was riding shotgun if I remember correctly. That grandpa gene must be from the Miller's cause I've driven that way ever since.

I would prefer done to henned up myself. Seems like that has been what we have been running into the last few years. It's hard to have enough patience to hunt those henned up toms. At least when the majority of hens are on the nest you can get a tom ,that hasn't had his fill, interested.
