Hey Guys, I've had a good past couple of weeks in the outdoors. I tagged out on turkey on opening day and now I caught my personal best bass. I think I have landed one bigger before but I didn't have my scale and I know I hooked one even bigger than that but never landed it. Those two were a couple years ago. This one inhaled a weightless purple worm about a second or two after it hit the water. It was on my first cast of the day too. Instead of me saying the weight, let's hear some guesses first before I say it. Just interested to hear people's estimates from the picture.

Great bird Brian! I've been considering getting into turkey hunting but Greenedog keeps telling me not to get started in it because just like deer hunting, it will totally consume me. This time of year I am majorly involved with my local little league and it's my favorite time of year to fish. Thanks! It definitely is consuming but it's worth it. This was my third year hunting and the first bird I've ever seen close enough to shoot. I was still addicted as soon as I heard my first turkey gobble from the roost. It's a rush for sure. This fall will be my first year deer hunting too so we'll see how that goes.

I shot my first ever turkey on Monday which was opening day here in Ohio. It weighed 23 pounds and had an 11 inch beard with 1 inch spurs. Shot it at 9:45 AM. Check out the full story I wrote up about the hunt over at my blog, JUST A Bit Outside Cleveland. Opening Day Tom

Looks good to me. It will take us a couple days before we are used to it I bet.

Catching one of those sturgeon would pretty much wrap up Fish of the Year here on the board. That is most definitely a river monster.

I think everyone likes Si. haha. His stories and demeanor are hilarious. The new episodes this week were great. I loved watching Si ride along on the police ride and Phil with that photographer was hilarious too.

I agree that fish should qualify for records even if the lucky angler wants to release it. I'm pretty sure that the IGFA record books require the fish to be released to even be considered for a record. correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure that's right.

Not sure if there is already a thread about the show, but a quick search didn't turn anything up.
So where are all the Duck Dynasty fans here?
I love the show.
