what did you catch the buffalo on? Canned sweetcorn was the bait we were using.

Adam and I spent the day there again, and all we really did was better than nothing this time...barely. My only catch was at least half-way decent, when I got this Buffalo on one of Adam's poles while he was away from them getting water from off the boat dock a ways down the bank. We estimated it going around 7 or 8lbs. I had another hard run later-on that felt pretty good for several seconds before it got off. Adam's lone catch was this little drum caught shortly before we had to depart for home. Unlike the Colts today, we weren't able to pull-out the results we were after. Adam waits by the slippery slope.

Way to go there, guys!
That's a place were you're just about for sure to catch some carp...but big ones are pretty few and far between.
Still, they're always good fun to catch 'em.
Congrats on your first, Sam! Just wait 'til you get one on that's about 5 or 6 times that size!
Great photos and video!

Adam and I spent the day there from about 9am, on through until it got dark. While the bite was pretty slow, at least we did both land a good-sized carp, plus a few other fish too. Here's the largest of the three lakes in the park. We fished from about the middle of the left-hand side: Adam caught a pretty decent bass on a crankbait: And I caught about a half-dozen of these smallish crappies on a jig: A carp pole finally got a run in the afternoon, and Adam landed this 12lbs. fish: And only about 30 minutes after wards, I caught one too. This one went 14lbs. And while it was disappointing not to get another run, at least we got to hear Purdue take care of the Hoosiers...again!

Adam and I each caught a Smallmouth Buffalo, which was a new species first catch for each of us! About as soon as Adam had his first fish, a carp, on the bank, he had another pole get a run too. And that turned-out to be his first buff. The carp/buff double: The 7lbs. buffalo close-up: My buff was a nice 13lbs. fish: Adam's 12lbs. carp catch: A 9lbs. carp I caught: Adam had one run where he set the hook...and all he caught was one scale! What an insult! By the river:

U2 is still my favorite band, since the mid-80's.
My wife and I were formerly pen pals through U2's pre-internet fan club magazine called "Propagana," and that's why we named our first son Adam Clayton Tomlin!
