Got there at 6:30am and stayed there until 1:30pm. Only had one single solitary run, and fortunately Adam ( I taught him EVERYTHING he knows ) ha ha...managed to make good on the opportunity, and landed this nice 19lbs. carp. The morning sky looked nice!

way to go guys. do ya'll eat em, or just release them. All the carp we catch are released to hopefully be caught again later when they've gotten bigger. Have never eaten a carp myself.

I really like using a twister-tail body on a roadrunner jig head like this: Have caught many different kinds of fish with these over the years.

Thanks! If I never see another lamprey, that'd be fine with me! LOL! Agreed! Hey Bruce were you sleeping in your pic? Dreaming of that thirty pounder.

Actually, we were there for a little bit of 23 May as well, but hey, who's counting? Anyway, the boys and I caught about a dozen nice-sized if not real big carp, with Adam catching the largest one which looked to go around 12 or 13 pounds. We also tried a few poles with live and cut bluegills, but there were no takers on these. Some of the carp captures: The night's big surprise came when after landing one carp we noticed what looked like a nightcrawler wiggling beside the fish and it turned-out to be a lamprey maybe 6" long! Anyone else ever catch a fish with a lamprey on it? Here it is inside an empty oats container:
