Hit up Mark or Brad Bilyeu @ TABCO on 46 by hulman. 812 249 9933. Tell em what you got and what you want, and they will shoot you a quote. VERY VERY Price friendly. Lets just say it was a Fraction of the price of a paint job.

I have used goldfish and had luck. No more than bluegill though. You can get goldfish for bait at Gander mountain. Last I checked they were about $5 for a dozen good sized ones.

another way to distinguish the two, is to take a look at the anal fin. The anal fin of a channel has anywhere from 24-29 rays, and is allways NATURALLY rounded on the back side. Blue cats have 30 or more rays, and are more straight and make a 90 degree angle back to the body. Like Brian said, If it truly IS a channel, get it certified, THEN you will be an OFFICIAL record holder. BTW If the "STOCKED" fish were purchased from a hatchery, Theres a good chance you may have a diffrent species.

Justin is right. Liver is a great bait, for relatively smaller cats like Channels. If you want big Flats, use Live bait. If you want Big Blues, use cut bait.
