Hate to be the one to say it 2506rugerm77, but I think you got your cats mixed up. That "IN MY OPINION" is a Blue Cat. A NICE ONE, but not a channel. If it WERE a channel, you would have a new virginia state record. GREAT FISH though!! www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/trophy/staterecords.asp

I'm thinking its a blue. get it certified as a record channel cat and then I will believe it.

another way to distinguish the two, is to take a look at the anal fin. The anal fin of a channel has anywhere from 24-29 rays, and is allways NATURALLY rounded on the back side. Blue cats have 30 or more rays, and are more straight and make a 90 degree angle back to the body. Like Brian said, If it truly IS a channel, get it certified, THEN you will be an OFFICIAL record holder. BTW If the "STOCKED" fish were purchased from a hatchery, Theres a good chance you may have a diffrent species.

Are you sure it wasn't already in there before the pond got stocked?
