Caught this Dogfish out of honey creek behind monty's house the other day. I was reeling in a bluegill and something attacked it when I was reeling it in. It looked like a walleye from the top but I had no idea how one would be in there. I caught a little pumpkinseed, tied on a bigger hook and caught this dogfish. It's the first one I've ever caught. It was 4.5# and 23" long.

they fight hard, ive cought my first one out of oldmill dam where it meets the river & it was a bigin 8 & half lb, i think they are one of the hardist fighting fish

Are them also called pond grimmels or bowfin cause i got a spot that is loaded with me and a guy said it was a bowfin also called a pond grimmel.. but it fells like ur reelin in a cinder block!!

We've been catching them here in the Maumee River, we call them Bowfin or Muddogs though.
