Stopped today and couldn't resist picking up a few lures! Had a 15% off everything coupon too. I have photos but tapatalk is being a trash app as usual. 😤

Well come on down! I haven't done much pit fishing in recent years either. Hell, I'm just a few miles from that private pit now where we used to catch those huge bluegill and redear every spring and I haven't even fished it since moving to Owen County. There's quite a few pits near where I live now but they've always been private and a lot have houses on them. I did see where someone is selling off some old mine land down the road but there isn't much water on it.

Gail sent me a message the other day from Ollie's in Terre Haute. They had some huge baits that she thought might be saltwater lures but my first thought was musky! Lol. I looked them up and they're Swedish made and used to catch those big pike over there. I'm sure they would work for musky and at $5.99 they would be worth a shot. Unfortunately she had already left when I got her message so I didn't get one. Might stop after work tonight and see if any are left. StrikePro was the maker.

Good to hear from you! Everything is good down this way for the most part. The company Monty and me work for make a food product and we are busier than ever. Chase is still killing bugs so not much has changed for him. Colton works for a retail company and has been furloughed for 3 months but he's still getting paid some and is starting back to school in June(online of course.) The folks have been pretty much self quarantined since getting back from Florida the end of March. I just got back from 2 weeks in Florida so expect some southern videos coming soon! I'm ready to hit the local pits too! My freezer is getting low and the Florida crappie fishing wasn't as good as recent years.

My updated list. Didn't do as well as I had hoped in SW Florida. Funny thing is Gail was fishing right beside me and caught a couple fish that I was hoping to cross off my bucket list! An oyster toadfish and a lizardfish. I'll post pics when I get them off the gopro.
black crappie Sheepshead(saltwater) Flounder Longnose gar largemouth bass bluegill redear/shellcracker Plecostomus/suckermouth catfish channel catfish gafftopsail catfish hardhead catfish snook redfish mangrove snapper whiting warmouth

I'd say because it was on the edge of the ditch someone figured it was free game. That's what I get for cleaning up my ditch!

Could you tell where they dug it up? No, but you could dig a hole in this sand here and 1 good rain would fill it in. I'd say it's been gone a while because there wasn't a trace of disturbed ground and my mowing crew had let things grow up as you can tell. 🙄

Is anyone hunting this spring? Thought for sure I'd see some reports while I was on vacation. My buddy Charlie from work was successful this week in Vigo County...

Done some clearing in the backyard on our last day and uncovered a pretty nice banana tree. My banana tree is gone. 🤔 Damn thing had been there for years because you can see it on Google maps street view from '07 I think? Guess someone needed it more than me. 😡
