Is the boat included when you start renting out the place? Ummm...no, it will probably be BYOB.

Holy crap, buddy! You sure are investing a lot of cash into this Florida thing. Congrats on all the new toys for the southern homestead!

You definitely have the fixins' to host the next BBB get together. what's the drive time to your place in Florida? The quickest I've done the drive is 13 hours and the longest(which was my drive home a month ago) is 16 hours. I was in traffic jams from south Georgia to Kentucky last time!

Guess I hadn't posted this pic. I moved the double bed to the small bedroom and the single bed to the bigger bedroom and then bought a bunk bed that I painted in a more "Floridian" color. Doing this plus the addition of the sleeper sectional took the place from sleeping 3 to sleeping 8!

Man, it was another rough trip last night! Sat in traffic jams around Atlanta at midnight and 2am. Took 17 hours to get here. The new rig is down here to stay so I plan on flying from now on!

So Colt and me took the boat out yesterday morning and I tried for 2 hours to get it to run before giving up. Dad knew of a mechanic that will move vacationers to the front of the line and I spent 3 hours with him this morning and he got it running like a top and only charged me $120. Ended up being a plastic piece broke off inside the motor and I would have never figured it out. Someone had the carb all out of whack too and the guy got it dialed in and even went on the river with me to test drive it and make sure it was all good.

Our neighbor has seen a bear in our yard before and we've had one get in the back of my truck after some trash so Gail ordered a couple trailcams to put up. Hopefully I'll have some pics to share next time down!

It blew my mind when I found out that Florida has bears.
I don't understand how Florida has bears, but we don't.

It blew my mind when I found out that Florida has bears. I don't understand how Florida has bears, but we don't. I'd say one reason is that Florida has 1.2 MILLION acres of national forest and Indiana has 200 thousand.

It doesn’t seem like Florida would have that much forest.

It seems like it to me when I go to Astor and drive mile after mile with nothing but pines on both sides of the road. Lol. Lots of state land down there also. Not sure how that compares to Indiana?
