I got my bird last tuesday after quite a few frustrating mornings. I finally just setup within sight of the bird on roost and got him right after he pitched out. 20# 10in beard 23mm spurs. Once i figure out how to put pics up from my phone ill post it. This turkey season looks like its been a tough one for most in southern indiana

My prayers go to him and his family. After the doc told me last year when i fell that if i had been 2 feet higher .my spleen would have completely ruptured and id more than likely be dead i always wear my harness and use a lifeline going up and down. I still hunt from the same stand that almost killed me but i feel alot better about having the harness on when i do now.

It looks like a chocolate lab to me personally. Although i know there are plenty of cougars in my neck of the woods. The resource building in crane even has pictures of some on crane

Well i was off of school yesterday so i decided to turkey hunt all day. Well the morning ended up being pretty bad. I got into my spot and all the gobblers were about 500 yards off down behind me off the property. Then i busted up a nice bird on the way out. I went back out at 5 that afternoon more to roost a bird than anything but i took the gun with me anyway. At 6 a dog started barking and everytime it would bark two turkey would gobble their heads off. So i ran down to where i could get close and set up. In the course of 10 minutes they probably gobbled 30 times. I gave a few soft yelps and here they came. They would run into the field to my right and go in about 5 ft and run back in but finally they both came out. They got right into my shooting lane and both went into strut and started drumming and when i moved my gun the smaller of the two(the only one i had a clear shot at) saw me so before he ruined everything i shot him. The shot distance was 3 yards.... easily the closest i have ever been to a live turkey. Just shy of an 11" beard 26mm spurs somehow he only weighed in at 15# ? no clue as to why he is so darn light. I was not in that blind either when i killed him. i had heard them behind me when i was in the blind and went down to get em and on the way back i stopped to get my blind and took the picture

They're gobbling good on the roost and just after here but about an hour off the roost not a bird in the woods is gobbling. They are all henned up at the moment and all of them are off the property at the moment. Looks like my youth season could be a bust

This is awesome. I dont know about the rest of you but the nearest check station is 7 miles away for me and although that doesnt sound like alot, when you're driving a truck that gets right at 7 to the gallon, this is going to save alot of gas whenever i have to check stuff in which is amazing with prices hovering at $4 a gallon here.

the population is definately spotty in martin county i know of only 2 spots that have hogs and they tend to stay in those extremely small areas and one is an area no one can hunt and the other is just too few to make it worth the effort
