Just keep at it. This year was a weird one. Low migration with weary birds made it rough. Oh well still goose to look forward too if the weather gets right!

Hey guys hopefully everyone is having a good season so far. Ive been hunting a few times this year and managed to kill a little of everything. For some reason im limited to 3 images per post so itll take a few posts to get it all up. I killed a few limits in early doves season and had an alright opening day of early goose. My opening day of deer went about as good as i could have ever hoped. i tagged out by 7:45 saturday morning and my buck had a TON of chicken wire wrapped up on his rack. not the biggest but im happy with him. My 3 duck hunts of the normal season so far have been decent. I went solo opening day and killed 5 outve my 6 and then had a couple decent 3 man hunts. Sorry for this picture over load, just figured id show what ive been up to.

Im by no means a great waterfowl hunter but if anyone wants to get together and hunt id be more than willing to go. Ive got both field and water spreads for duck and goose and all the calls. Im down in martin county but i hunt greene county all the time. And goose pond has some AMAZING waterfowl hunting.... if you dont get drawn at the end which is usually my luck haha! Frenchy Goose and Troy if you want just get ahold of me sometime and we can get together and slam some birds. Ive got plenty of early season spots as well if you want to go when its still warm.

Well I managed to hunt a couple hours this morning and wow has the rut bomb gone off. I saw 13 different bucks ranging from a nice 140" 10 to a spike buck. I only saw 2 does and both of them had bucks hot on their tails. It's looking like it could get crazy in the morning. Good luck to all of you and be safe!

That's kindve what I noticed on some of the young bucks I've seen as well nat. I went and pulled the cards on my cameras tonight and the ridge on the edge of my property that my double stand is on was torn up in buck sign. 5 scrapes and probably 15 rubs in a 50 yard by 50 yard area but the scrapes had not been tended in the last week at least and the rubs looked a few weeks old as well not sure what to think. One of the cameras had a buck named splits on it (~160in buck that's well known in the neighborhood) but he came through at 2 am other than that just a few doe and a couple dink bucks. I may just plan on hunting pinch points opening day and keeping an eye on the field below me to see if any bucks are chasing does in it. Troy you better be in the woods Saturday or it's officially revoked!

It's been awhile since I've been on here. Ive had barely anytime for hunting this year because of a job in Kansas we've been working on for a few months. I've managed a couple small does this year in the first week and this past week has been my first week back in Indiana since. I've sat all day everyday this entire week and have noticed a very slow paced rut it seems. I would only see about 15-20 does and a couple dink bucks one day and then be lucky to see a single deer the next. To me so far it's seeming like this year is a trickle rut just wondering what you guys have seen In your areas? My buddy tagged along Saturday and smoked a big old doe and let's just say thing we're pretty torn up back in the baby making factory so I'm wondering if I may have just come home right during lock down? Also the buck to doe ratio at my new hunting property is pretty screwed up (around 1 buck to 5 doe) so my best logic says if it is lockdown the big boys are too busy breeding and aren't really moving much in daylight.

Ive been out a few times this year and havent had anything great yet. I actually just got home from scouting goose pond green sullivan and hillenbrand and between them all i believe we saw 50 geese and maybe 100 ducks so it could be awhile before any good hunts come about. Troy you may just want to start hunting with someone else before you curse us all even worse! If we're ever headed to hunt birds up around there and have room ill let you and chase know if ya want to give it a go again haha.

Hey to all again. Whenever the main page went down i thought the entire website had gone down so thats why i havent been on here. Ive been out a couple of times but been busy with the new job (Jasper Engines and Transmissions) but last week i got permission on a new property and got to it. I saw 12 does on my first hunt which lasted about 3 hours so not bad at all. Second hunt was Friday and obviously with 30 mph sustained winds and trees falling over didnt see anything. Sunday i was in the woods for almost the entire day except an hour and a half spent eating. I had seen one doe that morning. Got down about 10:30 and scouted a bit since i dont know any of the property. Saw 9 more. Went and hung a tree stand and saw 18 deer standing on the ground trying to get it put up one of which was a shooter buck at 90ish yards that didnt even notice me. I went and got my bow and gear and set up. next thing i know the farmers here to finally take out the corn. My luck happened to be that i was less than 50 yards from the access trail because the deer were using it at a travel corridor. naturally i thought my night was busted but i figured he might run some outve the corn so i hung around. two hours later and no deer a doe comes up draw back she turned strait away from me and locks onto something... the grain cart coming up the trail. naturally she busted and ran outve range. Less than 20 minutes later i look on the trail and all i see is huge body and a VERY nice looking rack. so i grunted and here he came. he jumped off the access road and froze. Sure enough mr grain cart is coming back. but for some reason he froze and didnt move. once the cart had passed i grunted again and here he comes. before i know it he is 15 yards broadside. Sadly this bruiser had met his match and was missing his right side past his brow so he got the pass. But this new property looks promising and with the corn out it can only get better. AND if that big boy got messed up like that then there has to be an even bigger one running around somewhere. I havent even had a chance to run a camera out there so im going in blind without knowing any of the property and so far its going well. Hopefully ill have a deer on the ground to show you all before much longer. Sorry for the essay but working so much im not sure how often ill be on here so i figured id make the most of it My cousin hunts the property that neighbors mine to the north and our two corn fields are connected. He said last year in gun season it was nothing to see over 10 deer everyday in my property's corn field so come gun season i should definately have plenty of targets. Good luck all and happy hunting!
