Today, me and my dad were walking before daylight to a bird that was gobbling a good 250 yards away when this bird gobbled 70 yards to the right of an old logging road we were walking on. so we got set up on the left side and faced the right side, directly across from the bird. when the sun started to light up the sky good enough to where we knew he would be coming up the road soon, we gave a few soft yelps and he never stopped gobbling. Then he flew down to the right of me about 30 yards and when he came up to the 20 yard range I let him have it. He had right at a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. A great bird in my book.

Wish we had better deer genetics down here in arkansas, out of state tags for big deer states are expensive.

I shot this 7 point today after school. I had a big doe with two yearling button bucks come through. Then about 20 minutes later I had another doe with a yearling doe and button buck. when they were feading around a big oak tree this buck came through and started stirring up the three that were still hanging around. Then I decided to give him a 25-06 smack down. I hit him in the shoulder at 20 yards. He ran about 30 yards and went down. When I got to the deer I noticed my bullet did something wierd and it looked like it had two bullet holes.

Is there an Indiana youth archery season? There isn't one in Arkansas, but we have a youth rifle season.

Today when I was fishing on the white river, tail waters of bullshoals lake, I caught this white bass on a trout jig. They're not suppost to be in there. They got in there when they opened the flood gates from last year's flood. The fish measured 15".

Wow, that is not what our white river looks like. Our water is crystal clear and has mainly trout in it. but because of flood waters coming out of bullshoals lake (where we bass fish) we have a little bit of everything.

The flooding down here is starting to get crazy. Yesterday the county had to come and dump a load of rocks on the road to my house because the lake was coming over the road. The lake level is at 693.28. the water will go over the flood gates on the dam at 695.00. It is just a matter of time before they open the flood gates. Most lakes around here already have.
