Since i'm 15, yesterday evening was the last hunt of my last youth hunt ,and boy was it a good one. At 2:30 me and my trusty 25-06 sat down on the edge of a field where I had seen some good rubs and scrapes while scouting. I had a good north wind in my face, and was going to have a little over a half moon that night. So, at 3:30 I saw this buck come out in the field about 150 yards in front of me. I put him in my scope to make sure he was a buck worth taking. Then, after he lifted his head up, I got a rest on the tree right in front of where I was sitting, slipped off the safety, and squeezed off the trigger. When I shot him, he was quartering to me, and the bullet went in to the right of his left sholder and came out right behind his right. He bucked up, ran 40 yards out in the field and plowed the ground. I also shot a doe with my rifle during a doe only season, I think that was two weeks ago.

Last year I had two foxes come in that I thought were grey foxes on the first day of bow season and I shot over one of them.

Just some word of advice from experience, remember when hanging them, once you get the strap around the seat part of the stand tightened around the tree, fold the platform up and push down as hard as you can on the seat then fold the platform down. this will shove the two little spikes in the back of the platform into the tree and give you the most secure stand and then of course put a ratchet strap around the bottom part. Be careful!

Wow, wish the Ozarks had soil that rock-less. If deer ate rocks I would have it made. Anyways, I put out some "evolved Harvest Shot-Plot" out which is a mix of brassicas and turnips. worked well last year. I don't even bother with other plants and mixtures now. Throw some of that out with some lime or fertilizer in a cut hay field and a month later you got yourself a food plot. Good luck

When I see deer in my back yard I can't help but visualize where I'd try to shoot him in the angle they're standing in and sometimes I'll come to full draw on them and practice putting my pins on them; great off season practice.

All the rain from hurricane Isaac is on its way. The center of the storm just passed the Louisiana/Arkansas border and heading our way. The map that shows where all the rain is supposed to go shows that you guys should get some good rain too.

Pretty cool. Say you do get a shot and you take him, what do you do with a bear besides tan the hide? Not against hunting them, just not sure what I'd do with it. Bear stew? Well, I honestly don't know, but me and my dad know a guy that hunts bears. So if that time comes, we'll just call him and get all the info we need. And to answer bubbagill's question, it's not like we don't have a healthy population ,but bears are very stealthy like a bobcat. At one time our neighbor had trail camera pics of three different bears and one had a few cubs. And many people around here claim to have encountered a mountain lion

Well, that's not good, but on the bright side, it should be fun shooting them.

This reminds me of a day I was fishing a tube on crooked creek with my grandpa when I somehow managed to foul hook a perch and when I was reeling it in all of the sudden SLAM!!! A big smallmouth nailed the perch. I couldn't get the bass hooked and I can't say much about the perch either when I let it go it just kind of slowly rolled down stream I guess salt water fishing is alot more hardcore.

A .22 to the the 'ol noggin or a pellet if you live in a neighborhood usually does just fine, but if you want it alive i'd go with the box trap idea seems like a squirrel could wiggle out of a noose or snare. They like corn and peanut butter

Now that's fishing in luxury, but you might be mistaken as a U.F.O. from behind

I saw this bear in a field behind our house today I got him on video too, but I had problems uploading it. I saw a bear in our drive way a few years back. Arkansas has a bear season but I've never seen one while hunting. Our deer feeder we have has holes in it from bears knocking them over and trying to get to the corn. I saw that it was on its side after he left hopefully he didn't tear it up to bad this time. He might get get an arrow sent through him if I get lucky this October sorry about the quality it was taken from a phone at 150+ yards

Today I was mowing a yard with a riding mower, and a bunch of dead grass got built up on top of the blade cover and the next thing I knew it was on fire . I got it put out with a water hose but i'm just glad the ground didn't catch on fire. All I can come up with is that the blade threw a spark and the grass being as dry as it is caught on fire, but don't think grass is growing down here, this yard was tall and brown.

Mean looking gun man, mounting a flashlight or a laser on it would be cool
