Yea man its pretty cool, I got an order for 16 bucks and have enough supplies to make 500 jigs, minus the 200 mess ups, lol. Its really quite easy and I am not a handy type person, so if I can do it I know anybody can.

For anybody intrerested in making homemade icejigs check out Janns Netcraft, they have all you need to get in the game for very reasonable prices. I have been playing with this for several monthes I started out making basic jigs like Dot, Moonglow or whatever verticle presentation jigs you are after, now I have progressed into making jigs with a 45 degree angle like the Gill Pill, or the Gill Getter. Guys these jigs are insanely easy to make the blade of the jig has a break or bend in it where the hook lays then you simply solder the hook in place. Right now I am making my own homemade Gill Pills that cost upwards of 1.75$ a piece and I am making them for about a nickel a piece. I know money is tight at my place and am sure it is the same across the board so this is One way to get the hooks you need/want for much less money. Happy jig making, take care. Bubba.

I have no experiance with actual summer sausage, But I have used a jerky gun kit with good sucess, the kit I used called for Two pounds of hamburger and the seasonings from the kit, worked great, was easy to do. For refference they were just like a Slim Jim from a gas station but much better.

Well its that wonderful, happy, awesome, thrilling, addicting, much anticipated time of the year, can ya tell I live to ice fish, lol. So I thought I would throw out a few ideas as an equipment check list ' 1. Check auger blades for wear or cracks, and check tightness of set screws in auger blades, loose blades cut lousy and break. 2. Re spool all rods with new line. 3. Verify that there is a safety throw rope in your box/shanty. 4. Get propane bottles, and check lanterns are functioning properly. 5. Inventory all your jigs and tackle and replace as needed. 6. Inventory coveralls, I always check to see if my arse still fits in em,lol. 7. Charge Vexlars or whatever electronics you may have, take them to a lake or pond and drop em in off a pier to see that they are working properly, replace batteries as needed, stinks trying to get a new battery in the heat of the season been there done that took two weeks to get another factory vexlar battery.. That should just about cover it, get out there and enjoy it ice fishing is truly a great way to rid those dog days of winter. I am unaware of what yall typically have for safe ice in the south, but if any of ya want to take a drive I would be more than happy to take ya fishing.
