I went out this morning looking for a doe for Grandpa and Grandma (crappieman and crappielady). I almost got it done right at sunrise. I had 2 does sneak into the hay field behind me. Every time they would stop it was a spot I didn't have a shot, so they got away. A while later I had another 2 does bed down 70 yds or so to my left. Didn't see anything else until 9:45 and I here something crashing through the woods. One doe runs into the woods with THREE bucks chasing her. A spike, forkie, and a nice 8 point. The does that bedded down earlier get up and start running and every buck splits up with a doe. One small buck and doe hang around and then 3 big black dogs come in trailing the deer. I got some good footage of the buck grunting and chasing the doe so video coming soon. A morning in the woods I'll never forget!

i had a crazy afternoon hunt today. i was out stalking for some deer and kick up 5 does and they ran across the field. i followed them and about the time i got into the woods i see one walk right past my stand up there and the guy that also hunts there stands up out of my stand and blasts it. I walked over and asked if he needed help n he said ok. so we follow the deers blood trail for over one mile and we finally cornered him in a small thicket next to a field. The thing jumped up and charged through the field. I shot it low in the chest and blew its breast bone off. it turned and charged right at me and at about 5 yards i shot it 3 times in a row and it collapsed next to my feet. After we looked at the deer we found out the guy had hit it low in the shoulder and nearly blew both its legs clean off, there was only flesh keeping its legs connected. It was a nice sized button buck and weighed roughly 80 lbs field dressed. This thing was a tough deer and definatly wanted to live.
btw this was the guys first deer since he was 16 and hes going on 46. he just started hunting again last year.

not trying to take attention away from Chase's footage (which was awesome), but i have to comment on huntingman's story. Why did you start trailing that deer right after it was shot? When you jumped it that soon after being shot, its no wonder it took so much to finally kill it. The adrenaline pumping through its body wouldn't let it go down easily. And what kind of gun were you using that you shot it four times in such quick succession?

Sorry about the high jackin chase, but it was with a 20 gauge n we waited an hour before we started tracking.. the shot just didnt hit enough veins to have killed it anyway. Coyotes would have been its death if we didnt corner it. The 20 gauge was a remington 870 magnum with 3 inch winchest rifled hollow points.

I think there would have been at least 1 dead lab...if not 2 or even 3!!
This is coming from a lab lover and owner!
Dogs running deer DOES NOT FLY in this rednecks world. Keep yer damn mongrel to home and out of the deer woods or they get dead!! PERIOD!!!
Anywho, great stuff there!
