Mom and Dad are southbound and I can’t wait for the pics to start rolling in! Here’s what I got them for Christmas and dad’s going to hang it on the dock. 😀Monty got them a really sweet live well/cooler for their minnows.

Troy, do you know what the weight of their biggest crappie caught since they have been going down there? And which one landed it, your mom or dad?

Mom and Dad’s view looks a lot better than mine did this morning driving to work in the freezing rain. Already have 3 keepers in the boat as the sun rises.

Troy, do you know what the weight of their biggest crappie caught since they have been going down there? And which one landed it, your mom or dad? The answer from mom... "The first year we were down here your dad caught a 2# 14oz and he caught another one the same size one other year. I think my biggest was 2# 12oz." Between Gail and me she has the bigger fish; 2# 9oz caught in 2017.

They ended up with 8 keepers on New Year's Day. I was saying the other day that this is the windiest winter I remember and it's the same down there. The wind gets going around 10 and their day is done.

The wind gets going around 10 and their day is done. I received a holiday letter from the resort we stayed at in the UP last June. One of the things she mentioned about the good year they had (in spite of the covid) was the wind never stopped blowing. We had to take out boat out of the water 1 nite due to the high winds forecast. Seems like I cancelled more trips this past summer due to wind forecast than usual. Glad they are getting some.

Things are picking up down south! Yesterday they awoke to rain and high winds. After dinner it actually got calm so dad ran up river to Lake Dexter. It wasn’t long until he sent mom a pic of a 2# 3oz slab. He ended up with another identical slab plus 10 more keepers!
