This is one of those hunts where if he didn't have the camera he would have never been able to describe how cool his hunt was! If you don't want to watch the entire video just start at 6:00 and watch for a minute or so.

I'd say he found the X that day.

Went back to Hillenbrand this morning. There was light ice at the boat ramp so I thought I could get through it but that wasn't the case. Had some open water close to the ramp so I hunted it but I think I was to close to the truck. Last week I saw 4 ducks and they all came in to the decoys. Today I saw 10 and none came in. Did have 2 does come to the ramp for a drink...should have been trying to fill a tag I guess. Here's another decoy review with my terrible shooting at the end.

Maybe you need to throw the muzzleloader in the boat next time.

Maybe you need to throw the muzzleloader in the boat next time. That crossed my mind. That and an orange hat. Funny thing is I think the ducks were worried about my truck but the deer had to walk right by it to get to the ramp!

Chase and me finally got to hunt together this morning but it didn't go so great. ALL the pits were locked up so we broke a little area to hunt since we were already there. Didn't see a duck. Attachments:

Birds are flying today! I've been seeing thousands of geese overhead here at work in Vigo County for the past couple weeks. Thought they were snows but they look dark. Juvenile snows? Specks? Lessers? I'm going to try and remember to bring binoculars in tomorrow to figure out what they are. About an hour ago I saw flocks flying in formation towards the NW and they went on for I'm guessing 3 miles. It was quite the sight! Can't imagine hunting and having flocks like that pouring in.

Forgot my binoculars again today. Doesn't matter though because all I've seen are crows flying which is an everyday thing here in Terre Haute. Maybe the huge flock of geese I saw yesterday was the mass exodus?

Think you probably saw a big gaggle of specks. I am hunting some close to you, flooded fields by the eel river northwest of Worthington. It has not been good, so far, unless you got a big lake with some locals using it. Seen one flight of specks and a few ducks and Canadas just going from lake to lake. It could always change! If we ever get into them good, I will let you guys know, for sure. Can always use more shooters and decoys. Just not as many ducks as there used to be.

There's plenty of ducks...they just show up after the season is over. Seems like it has been that way for a few years now.

Yeah I have noticed that the last decade or so, kind of just gave up on it. I have enough frustration killing big deer
