It's a jake. I'll let the video give the embarrassing details. Lol. Things couldn't have gone better then I blew it.

I’ll tag out on a jake every year. I ain’t picky, but I’ve also gone six years without killing a bird. I told Gail last night that'd I'd take a jake. It was the tom that I missed that's the embarrassing part!  I invested in an Avian X hen decoy and this was the first time using it. A jake came in and tried to breed it for 10 minutes. Finally a tom comes over and chase's the jake off and I miss the tom at 20 yards! I was even using the old 20 gauge that we had never missed with. Just watched the footage and I should have let the tom stop; he was still chasing the jake when I shot. So anyhow the jake was so enamored with the hen decoy that he comes back for more and I let him have it!   |

I love your chuckle right after you smoked the jake. I guess you could say that decoy worked  That was so graphic I thought you might have to blur out part of the screen for obscenities Turkeys and shrooms...good day all around. |
