Just ordered a re-supply of jigs for the sheeps. Now I just need to figure out when I'm gonna get down there again!

Got my order, now just need to get down there. Also picked up a new kind to try called “Bridge Donkey Jigs” and some pompano jigs too.

Are there better months for the bridge fishing pattern you guys were on, or are they there all the time and move in and out with the tide? Just curious.

Are there better months for the bridge fishing pattern you guys were on, or are they there all the time and move in and out with the tide? Just curious. Winter is most definitely the time of year to catch them around the pilings! I’m no expert, but from what I understand they move in from shallower waters to the deeper water and put on the feed bag before heading offshore to spawn in late winter/early spring. I know some are caught in the summer but it’s usually a by-catch while fishing for something else. Most of the warm weather sheepshead catches I see are from gigging at night. I know where we catch them there are thousands of acres of backwaters for them to disperse in but really not that many deeper areas and even fewer spots with pilings, docks, or rocks that the things they like most to eat live on. You can kind of see how they end up just piled up under these bridges and docks in the winter.

One of the crappie.com Florida regulars caught this over on the west coast. Can’t imagine the fight of a 10# sheepshead!

That is a toad of a sheepshead. Hope you get a chance to get your lines stretched on a few of them during your next trip.

Since I never get to use my ice fishing gear anymore, I’m seriously considering bringing one of my good ice rods down to try on the sheepshead. It has been done before!

Tough bite this year for the sheep’s and they’re running smaller than last winter. Caught shorts yesterday and just 2 keepers today.

Fun to watch! Nice to see you in short sleeves on soft water. Welcome back to the polar land.

After watching this video I ordered some of these yellow tail snapper jigs. I'll do anything to get a better hookup percentage on these toothy critters!
