The guy getting the tattoo is a friend of my brother. I've told him he needs to ask him to tag along when they run a trap line.

Just watched this on youtube and it's a very cool movie. Not a lot of trapping in it, but the footage is amazing!

Here's the trailer for the movie I posted. I think what makes this movie so school is that it's real people, not just actors. The film maker followed them for a full year to capture all of this...

That's funny! What are you baiting your trap with? I pulled all my traps up here because the snow is too deep and they keep calling for more snow just about everyday. I guess it's time to switch gears and start ice fishing

I found a little spot in the woods to trap last weekend. I was walking ontop of nothing but coon tracks! It seemed like every other tree had holes in it and tracks going up it. Put in 5 sets last night, and im pretty excited! plus im selling some fur today.

Set my ztrap dp yesterday for the first time. I baited it with a piece of sardine inside then smeared a little peanut butter on the top and then a marshmallow covering the opening. Today the p-butter and marshmallow were gone, but the sardine was still inside. I'm wondering if a deer didn't come along and eat the marshmallow and lick off the p-butter? If it was....I'm just glad it didn't stick it's tongue down the trap!! I also had a foothold sprung. It was a set at a big hay bale where I'd jammed a deer leg under the bale. The leg was pulled out and the trap was empty. This is the second empty foothold I've had. I'm afraid these old coil spring traps aren't strong enough to hold anymore. Might put them on ebay as "vintage" and put the money towards some new ones for next year.

Well, I was at my mom's house in Greenwood this past weekend for Christmas. I decided to do some research and see how far away Hoosier Trapper Supply was from her house. Much to my surprise it was less than 2 miles from her house. So me and my youngest son made a trip over there on Saturday before they closed. I'm sure glad I decided to go! That is a pretty cool place. It's pretty much a trapper's paradise. I ended up spending a little over $200. I bought a coyote trapping starter kit, 3 Duke Dp's and a snaring video by Hal Sullivan. The trapping kit included 6 Bridger coil spring traps, a dozen disposable stakes, a stake driver, a 3-in-1 site prepping tool, trap dye, trap wax, a big bottle of coyote urine, a coyote lure and some nasty smelling coyote bait. In other words, I will be setting some yote traps this week, as well as, getting my coon traps reset

It's good to hear you made it to the shop. I knew you'd enjoy the place.
I think the taxidermy alone is worth a visit.
