remember on Happy Gilmour..."GRIZZLY ADAMS DID HAVE A BEARD" I was about ready to watch that movie because I couldn't remember who said that. It was driving me nuts (Lee Trevino btw).

The turkeys have been hitting the picked corn field here by the house, but they've been hard to pattern. They're out there any where between 9am to 3pm. They cross the road by our house where there's a little 2 acre woods and I had made a "make shift" blind in there back in October. Some days they cross around 10am, some days 2pm. Today I decided to give it another shot and went to the woods around 1pm. I hadn't been there 15 minutes when I heard birds puttin, but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. I turn around and the birds are in the corn field heading my way, it looked like around a dozen or so hens. The birds were heading into the woods and I thought I'd definitely be getting a shot. Unfortunately, they must have seen me move or seen something they didn't like because they turned around and started moving straight across the field. I tried to put a sneak on them and thought I might be close at one point; I drew my bow and raised up, only to see them about 150 yards off. I'm back to work tomorrow, so it looks like I'll be eating this fall turkey tag.
