The one with the camp fire/loo is a red stag. The one in thick bush(and the one I am carrying the leg and head in) is a sambar.

I use a Sako 75 in .308 for all my serious hunting Brian. I just wish I had've got the stainless synthetic model though.

Rifles used here would be just what you guys use there really. All different makes and models and calibres.
Off the top of my head, most common would probably be(in no particular order)
Winchester
Tikka
Sako
Remington
Howa
Weatherby vanguard(not WBY Mark V)
Browning etc

cals for deer

and up. There are heaps in between though
Some guys hunt Sambar deer with .458WM. Sambar seem to be armour plated by some people, hence the big cals. Sambar have a minimum cal of 270.

I wish we could deer hunt with rifles. We can use handguns from .357 mag and up. We can use rifles on any other animals. just not turkey or deer.
