i assume its for safety reasons donk. here in indiana theyres houses throughout the country and having a bunch of rednecks with rifles near houses just isnt a good idea but realy its just so if we miss the bullet doesnt continue to fly for another mile and smack someones house.

That's well said. For deer I either go archery or use a Marlin lever action in .44 magnum. If someone gets a depridation (sp) permit they can use any cal they want to hunt with during summer time (unless that has changed since the last I heard anything about it).

Ya they don't want somebody shooting somebody on the next property cause there are alot of idiots who literally shoot at anything they see.

Its probably mostly because of the house, butI also think it is because deer and turkey are the most popualr game animals and more people are in the woods during the seasons. rifles can lead to more accidents because of the distance they travel.

And spainy what about this permit??? Mainly it goes for farmers who can show that deer are damaging their crops (badly). The DNR can issue a permit to reduce the herd. Any trophy deer killed the DNR will take half the rack (again, could use a refresher on that one).

Oh ok i will check it out, we farm so that would be cool, but deer don't really damage our fields anyway.
