I just might be back over there next weekend to try to redeem myself. Haven't checked the forecast yet though. Hopefully Tony took some pics of his mess. I know he had some real nice ones too.

Yesterday opochtli and I met up at east shovel lake. It quickly went from one of my best panfishing days to worst. I'll start off with the good. We paddled to the end of the lake out of the wind. Immediately I had one nice ear and gill on my stringer. Tony followed shortly after with a dandy. I switched over to a nuclear ant tipped with a cricket and the bluegills loved it. After a couple hours I had probably 12-15 gills on my stringer all of them 8+ inches and 3 of them were dinner plate sized gills. Easily 9+ inches! I paddled over to chat with tony for a minute. Next thing I know I look down and my stringer is gone. Apparently I didn't secure it to the yak good enough. After that I had had enough and decided to pack it up. Tony was gracious enough to send me home with a couple fish. Still makes me sick to my stomach thinking about that stringer. This is the only picture I took of one of the pigs. Attachments:

I tell you what Troy, you almost have a deal lol! I'm sure with enough man power and trash bags we can get it cleaned up!

Me too. I saw some fresh beds but nothing going on in them. Maybe the cool nights this past week stalled it??

Went out to the forest for a couple hors today and stood in the rain. Kept 10 keepers caught on wigglers. Most were in deeper water on the bottom. Attachments:

Well the wife doesn't like to fish. She does enjoy being on the water and in the sun. It works for me. If she says she wants to go kayaking that means fishing time for me that I don't get punished for later

A late report, but last Tuesday four of us launched from Fairfax beach on our yaks. My wife's first time in her's and she really enjoyed it. Lake was still up and the peninsula was still flooded. Was hoping to find some channels feeding in the flooded brush. I gave up on the cats and started fishing with crickets. Ended up catching a couple eater cats on crickets LOL! I now have a kayak cart so I'm thinking about hiking into the National forest with the yak this Saturday and see if I can get some big gills off the nest. If anyone wants to join just let me know.

Went out to a buddy's pond yesterday evening. We caught some dink gills and bass. Couldn't get the crappie to bite. Did manage to get this nice cat later in the evening. 26" long and 7lbs. She was a fatty. She already had eggs too, which surprised me.

I saw that comment too. Apparently, he didn't watch the entire video because stick or not, he laid the wood on that bird, lol.

I pulled the boat, kayak, and all my gear into work. It was hard to stop in Bloomfield to work for a few hours
