Thanks! I tend to go overboard with my projects lol. I have a lot of fun making and remodeling things.

I think the time has come for me to get rid of my kayak trailer. Now that I have a truck again I can get my yaks around just fine and it’s taking up too much space. I’m gonna go with ceiling hoist mounts for my yaks to store them out of the way. The trailer: it’s an early 1970’s thunderbolt brand trailer. I got it in late 2015 I believe and in the spring of 2016 I did a restoration. Sanded the frame and applied multiple coats of primer. Then finished it with enamel implement paint. Put new diamond plate fenders,LEDs, and coupler on it. In the summer of 2019 I put new bearings on it and bearing buddies. Both tires were replaced and I added a matching spare that is mounted to the tongue. It’s been garage kept since January 2017. I pulled this trailer with 2 kayaks to Florida in October 2019. No issues going 75mph on the interstate. Since then, it’s been out of the barn less than 10 times. It pulls great; has good weight to it so you don’t have to worry about it jumping around. Can easily be pulled by any 6 cylinder vehicle. I wouldn’t hesitate to take off with it hours from home right now. Hard to put a price on it. It’s definitely sturdier than some of those chincy yak trailers being sold. I’ll start at $800 and go from there.

Just come across this guy, Adam Long, and instantly thought of you guys! He’s doing a mural in Bloomfield later this month and has invited people to come interact, participate, etc…

Yeah I said something about that in my original post. Hopefully the concrete one will be Hurricane proof! Whoops! I’ve slept a few nights since I read that lol

I read on a Flagler beach Facebook group that it was coming down next year anyway to be rebuilt. Don’t know the accuracy of that

I'd like to hit this up in November when we are in the area! Looks like it will be a no go for November. Hurricane Ian took out a big chunk of it. I saw that. Sucks!! I’m still waiting to hear from the property management of our rental to see if the steps down to the beach are still usable. If not we might have to use an extension ladder lol

I'd like to hit this up in November when we are in the area! Here's another spot you might check out. Gail has been in Florida the past couple weeks and one night they stayed in St Augustine ghost hunting lol. She drove the coast on the way back to Astor and discovered this park south of St Augustine near the Mantanzas Inlet. She didn't have her fishing stuff but she saw lots of bait fish and other folks fishing and kayaking. Think I'll check it out next time down. Helen Mellon Schmidt Park goo.gl/maps/ovFppuVpC8b4yj386 Let me know if you check it out. It's not far from where we are staying!

I’m pretty sure Otto is a German wire haired and not a griffon but he is awesome regardless! 👍 Are the iguanas in the Astor area, or are they just farther south?
