Thanks. Will do buddy! Sounds like a fun time. I always heard that if you go over there fishing through the week it isn't too bad, but I didn't know for sure. Def wouldn't want to be there on a weekend I don't think.

I went chasing walleye at Monroe last Saturday and Sunday while my in-laws were camping at Paynetown. Ended up with some dink crappie, yellow bass, and an eater cat. Boat traffic was terrible. I remember why I don't fish Monroe much at all. Monroe is up 9.9 feet so lots of brush and timber under water. I did well this spring fishing the Farifax peninsula when it was flooded. The cat population is healthy there. I would think you could catch one about anywhere. Thanks man. I might try that before summer is up. I have been itching to go over there sometime for a few years now. I don't have a boat big enough, so bank fishing might be my meal ticket over there.

Went out this morning to a pit I enjoy fishing a lot. The bass fishing was on FIRE! Berkley Pit Boss's were the breakfast of choice. Caught a few big bluegill, but was mainly after the bass. Made for a heck of a mess for fish. Anybody else done any good? I have had a hankering to go over to Monroe Lake and do some catfishing sometime, but have yet to make it. I don't know where a good spot would be to go from over there as well. Tight lines everybody.

Funny you say this. I noticed a BUNCH of gills and ears that appeared to be nesting in a private pit I sometimes fish the other day as well. Matter of fact, two gills I cleaned last weekend had eggs. Odd to see in the middle of July. Nice catch!

Made it out onto public property and got 45 minutes in before the rain and a streak of lightning forced me off the lake. This morning went back and managed a few more, but not like yesterday so I switched to bass fishing and nailed several on my custom made spinnerbaits. The White Ghost Minnow lit them up. The one in the middle weighed a hefty 14.5 ounces when a guy at the fish cleaning station lent me his scales. .

Not only were some of them this long, but they also were 4.5" wide. It is always fun, when gills and ears are so big you can't hardly get your hands around them!

It was a little slower this weekend and I got stuck working all day and evening yesterday. However, I managed to make it out today with my dad. He tagged along for a while and caught a few small bass. We each caught a big bluegill, and I caught several other big gills and ears. This picture was too good not to share. The nests were starting in the stripper pit I was in and the fish were EVERYWHERE. The full moon this weekend probably didn't hurt things.
