Got out over the weekend with my friend Dave and he put us on some sand pike that were stacked up. Just not real aggressive. Put about 40 in the boat that were legal size, just not keepers. It was a great day to be on the river.

Picked up my first ever sandpike in December. Mainly because of not really fishing much in the month. He wasn't a big one, but he was one nonetheless. Had a big splash right behind me which startled me, I turned around and popped on the light and there were all these eyes bobbing in the water right next to me. If I hadn't been through this before it might have creeped me out a bit. Nice evening to be out.

Made it down for some fishing on the river today. Pulled my first ever Sauger/Walleye in the month of November. Lots of little ones biting. Netted three small drum and a 10 inch crappie as well.

Made it down to the river for a little bit this evening. Missed a pretty good hit and caught a really nice smallie. It was a good evening to be out on the water. Released to be caught again.

Every year a whole lot of people get together for a weekend down at Brookville Reservoir for some of the best times of the year. The walleye bite is generally really good at this time of year and then we have a walleye fish fry, a pulled pork dinner, some kind of entertainment and a walleye tournament.
To help with funding this, a friend of mine, who is a charter captain on Lake Michigan, has donated a perch charter to auction off to raise funds. All money will go to this outing.
In order to ease confusion, the auction for this 4 man, 6 hour/boat limit perch charter on Lake Michigan will be only on one board. It is over on IW and will run until 9 pm CST Next Friday, the 16th.
If you would like to get in on this, head over to IW and you can see more details on the trip.
Thank you.

That is one nice buck. I didn't know the 25_06 was legal for deer. I am going to have to look at the regs then go to the gun cabinet. Give me more range than my 12 gauge for sure.
Congrats on a great buck!!! Now you gotta top it next year!!!

Shopping around I found some Minwax that runs 45 bucks a gallon. Was told it is the best sealant for boat decking.
Now the adhesive for putting down either the carpet or vinyl flooring says to go on a clean surface, no oils etc. How would this sealer affect the adhesive?

Just like the one I own and have never used on the ice yet lol. I'll take some ice, just leave the rivers open and very little snow.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Two recent reports of mountain lion sightings in southeast Indiana have been determined as hoaxes. Last week, a person began sharing on Facebook a fake photo of a mountain lion allegedly struck and killed by a vehicle near the Versailles State Park this month. The photo used in the Facebook post was borrowed from a 2011 news release from the Florida Wildlife Commission. The person who posted the photo claiming the sighting happened near Versailles has since seen their Facebook account deactivated. “None of my officers in Southeastern Indiana are able to confirm that this photo was taken in Indiana. Conservation Officers do not drive any vehicles similar to that shown in the photo,” Conservation Officer Lt. Anthony Stoll, IDNR District 9, tells Eagle 99.3. This week, a second reported sighting in western Shelby County near the appropriately named town of Bengal on October 10 was debunked, say Indiana DNR Conservation Officers. There has been one confirmed report of a mountain lion in Indiana in recent years. One was spotted on a hunter’s trail camera in Greene County in 2010. The sighting was verified by conservation officers, although they were unable to determine if the mountain lion was wild or a former captive that had escaped.

Seats will be above the rear two benches. I initially planned on putting one all the way up front, but this will be a two man boat now and it wouldn't be needed and I didn't want the hassle with it.
There will still be supports up front though.
I didn't go with treated lumber because of the caustic reaction it has with some metals, including aluminum. I will be sealing the lumber prior to putting either carpet or vinyl over it.
Still not sure which way I am going on that front. Temps might shut me down from sealing it until spring, so I will have time to weigh those options.
