Probably THE greatest assemblage of musical talent on one stage at one time EVER! Background...errr stories
My two, all time, favorite groups...i feel blessed to have seen them both. Once, many years ago, i saw Queensryche up close and personal at Pieres in Fort Wayne...so close Geoff Tate (Lead singer of queensryche (the bald singer in the vids) was sweating on me. (YUK but TOO cool) Saw Dream Theater at Pieres as well back in like 91 before they got big. It was a "low dough" $5 show. Then again years later at Fort Wayne coliseium for the Gigantour w/ Megadeth, right up front as well, with my eldest when he was like 16. I HAD to take him as he was constantly feeding me grief about how MegaDeth and Dream Theater SUCKED...Will NEVER forget the look of absolute awe on his face when Dream theater stepped out on stage and did what they do. Needless to say he has NEVER said a bad thing about MegaDeth, Dream theater OR Queensryche ever since....when road tripping he actually requests i pull up these groups up on my MP3 and we jam out Queensryche and Dream Theater doing the great classic "Comfortably Numb" by Pink FloydSame groups performing the Queensryche classic "Take Hold of the Flame"...i wish the quality was as good as i get when i film shows! Queensryche and Dream Theater performing The Whos classic "Wont Get Fooled again"

thanks guys.
The day went pretty well all things considered. Went over to my buddy Dons (he lost his dad , a dear friend of mine, 3 months before i lost mine...yeah, that was one MESSED UP year for me) and beat up on the bikes on the dirt track. Then drank beer and shot the poo with a couple other friends that stopped by. Then met up with the eldest at a local watering hole and commenced to power drink.
Finally drug my thoroughly sodden ars in the house around 2a.m. Hopped on spacebook whilst eating before passing out, only to open a message from my mother. The content was VERY suprising. I guess my aunt stopped by moms house, she told my mom she had been completely depressed all day and didnt know why. Mom told her what the date was. They then had a long talk and walked up to the cemetary and chatted more. In the words of my mom "much fence mending was accomplished".
This is suprising as my aunts havent had anything to do with this side of the family ever since Grandma died and they decided (demanded) to divide the farm and sell it off, MUCH against the wishes of my dad and uncle. It was so bad the aunts couldnt even be bothered to come to dads funeral...
I guess "all in Gods good time"...

Hope you all bear with me on this one! I know this is a hunting and fishing board, but the old man was a BIG influence for me becoming the outdoorsman i am today! 13 years ago today, i got a call that would change my life. It was my older brother on the other end and all he said was "Dads crashing...GET YOUR ASS UP HERE!!" I hopped in the old '84 F-150 and started the mad +200 mile trip @ +100 mph back home. I didnt make it in time. By the time i pulled up, the old man was dead. I thought i would share some tunes that i will be listening to quite a bit today...along with of course Kansas "dust in the wind" and Dream Theaters "The spirit carries on" Not exactly my genre of music. But it holds a wisdom we can all learn from! Dad and i never really got along too well....unless we were on one of our MANY hunting or fishing trips. One line is especially pointed for me. "I wasnt there that morning my father passed away...I didnt get to tell him all the things i had to say...I think i caught his spirit, later that same year, I'm sure i heard his echo in my babies new born tears"....my youngest son was born 355 days after dads death. I personally shot this next tune the night of my eldest sons 21st B-day. The lead singer of Alter Bridge, Myles Kennedy, lost his mother to cancer. This song is written about that event in his life. Same way i lost my dad. If you watch and listen (or it might just be me) you can FEEL the emotion pouring out of his guitar during the instrumental. The opening line is very poignant to me...We had a weeping willow in our back yard growing up. "the willow it weeps today" and the line "The static of this cruel world cause some birds to fly long before they've seen their day". Dad was only 53. "In loving Memory" - Alter BridgeWhat turned out to be our last deer season together...Just "hanging out" in camp in the one place we ALWAYS got along...the UP.The eldest on the rope swing the old man hung in the afore mentioned willow..."Getting schooled" The old man helping me out with my homework. 1st year of my sheet metal apprenticeship...Dad was a journeyman tinner as well. Thanks for bearing with me. Its just gonna be "one of them days" for me. For those of you that still have your dad, CHERISH the moments you have, they ARE precious!!!

Personally, i would stear any and ALL away from ANY Taurus.
Had one, it was JUNK! It spent more time in transit going back to the factory then at the range. First 50 rounds it broke, second 25 it broke again, couldnt get another 50 thru it before it was headed back to the factory AGAIN!
Buy American!!!!!
We have alot of GREAT firearms manufacturers in this country that NEED our support!
Springfield Armory
Smith and Wesson
Kel Tec

Yep, unfortunately i live right in the ghetto, A.K.A. downtown fort Wayne.
When it comes to fishing and outdoors sporting all around, i was spoiled as a kid, having been born and raised in N. MI with tons of time spent hunting and trout fishing all over the UP and Northern MI.

Nice fish pics/video & i see you like to canoe & looks like your floting in a giude 147 ? wich i can tell you had it for years. Thanks! Its a Mackinac 156...your right on one account, i have had it for YEARS! Bought it brand new 15 or more years ago. The story behind me purchasing that canoe.... The jackwad that runs "the trading post" in mongo is such an A$$! He PIZZED me off the year i took my camper, my eldest boy, a friend and his baby brother up for a weekend of camping/trout fishing. Spent a TON of cash on camp sites and canoes. I say to the guy when renting the canoe. "I would like to be on the river at dawn to get in a full day of fishing" He says, "you'll get on the water when I decide you get on the water and not a second before I decide." Not to be detered and thinking the guy was joking (i mean really, who talks to their paying customers like that) i say "OK, how about i just pick out the boats and paddles and life jackets tonight, we'll load 'em and head out in the morning and you can just take me back to my truck when we get back in to camp." He says, "HELL NO, I'm not having my fine equipment being hauled around in your junk truck." The next friday i went out and bought my own canoe, paddles and life jackets....one of the best purchases i ever made. I have gone fishing when i want, where i want, for as long as i want. Not to mention saving the rental fees. When you figure as much as i trout fish, i have paid for that canoe 100 times over! Plus i found the camp ground at the FWA a mile east of that jerks place and only pay $8 a night instead of $30. Theres less people at that camp ground and is a nicer place all around IMHO.

Thanks Troy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No problem.....thank you for sharing! Those are some sweet trout. Chase said it looked like your fishin' buddy got bored listening to you when he laid down in the boat. LOL!! Sounds exactly like something my smart azz eldest would say...except he would toss in "who can blame him".
