Haha, good answer. If I come over mate, I'll let you know. They look quite tasty actually, I'd have a go. Nah mate. We don't go after frogs. We have big friggen cane toads though, but the barstards are poisonous. Not sure if our possums are like your possums. Deffinately not the same, your guy's are a little cuter. And our's are Greasey if you dont cook em' right!

The fryer goes well over the 250 degree mark. and it takes MUCH LESS heat than that to smoke wood, so theoretically there should be no problem. Its nothin fancy but it should work.

Strip and Jaw, THANKS for the Ideas, I had been thinking of the Teflon ones but wasnt sure. I dont think oven racks will work, because they may be too wide, my box is only so tall and wide. Here are some pics. I have a Dolly in one pic just for size refference. Once again, All I'm useing to heat my smoker is a little deepfryer from walmart. It is Basically just a Heating element attached to a No stick Teflon coated Cast Alluminum Bowl. Heres a close up of my temp guage. a View from the side. Theres the guage in the upper left. A view from the front. The door slides Up and i have a latch that keeps it open. Heres the inside. I still have to get my racks. Notice i used foil inside to keep in some heat and make use of the convection since this is a Warm smoker and not a Cold smoker. My Heat Source. Like i said Basically just a Hot Plate. the basket I plan to use to keep my wood chips in. Here is the Model of Deep fryer I bought to use. I think it was 20$ I still need to make a stand for my water pan also, but thats no biggie.

Nah mate, we don't. Only thing that comes close is called a Possum. They are native, so you can't touch em. Years ago, someone took them to New Zealand, they are a huge pest over there. I don't think they eat them though, and the Kiwi's will eat anything. They make things out of their fur though. HECK YES WE EAT EM'!!! And we got possum round these parts too, but there aint to many of us that DO eat those. Donk, I would'nt say they taste like chicken, I would say they taste like Squirrel. Wanna Know what that taste like? Guess your just gonna have to take a trip up here to YANK Land and Try em out!! Hows These Look? Bet you boys down there in NeverLand dont eat Frog Legs Either Do ya?

well, i went out and started on building a new smoker today. This time I'm gonna go with electric instead of charcoal. I've had an old Equiptment shipping crate from out at the base for a while, and its just been sittin in the barn next to the flight simulator and ejection seats collecting dust, so i thought i would use it. I lined the inside with foil to try to retain some of the heat . I also Put in a small grill thermometer that reads up to 500 degrees(Not that I'll ever get it that hot.), and put my heating element in also. For the Burner, I went to walmart, and picked up a little Deep Fryer.(They didnt have any Hot-plates.) This thing is BASICALLY a Hot-plate, with a Basket. I figgure I can use the basket to hold my wood chips, makeing it easier to remove the coals when i need to change chips. I took some old wire, and made a bracket for my water pan to sit on/in that puts it right above the Burner. For the pan itself, I am just useing an old bakeing pan, slightly larger than the burner so it will catch any drippings preventing a fire. all I have Left to do is Get ahold of some Racks, and mount them in then TEST IT!! I'm thinking of getting these racks. www.bradleysmoker.com/accessories.asp Third Item Down. I will post Pics when I have it finished.
