One good bait is a beetle spin. another idea is to by a storm, wildeye clear curly tail minnow package and fish them . you'll catch bass and then when they rip the tail off it gives it a wierd wiggle that both crappie and bass can't seem to resist

We live in Indiana but fish for crappie in Florida in the winter. We troll with 8 rods and use mostly hal-fly jigs in various colors. We fish lakes off of the St. Johns river. Sometimes we drift the river and minnows work real well for that.

A friend put us on to a good crappie fishing web site. It is midwestcrappie.com. They have a show on tv, that we can't get, but you can watch the shows from the web site. One of the shows is on Lake Monroe in Florida that we have fished different times. There is also one from Patoka Lake in Indiana.
