The Busseron (pronounced "Bus-row") Creek chapter had its' banquet last night and the evening went pretty well. You could tell that some people, including myself were hesitant to spend money. The silent and live auction didn't quite bring in the bids that we were hoping for. I say "we" because my buddy informed me when I got there that I was now a committee member. I did however drop a Franklin on raffle tickets which netted me 144 tickets for the general raffle plus 5 seperate gun drawings and 5 red tickets for the top gun; a Browning camo O/U (16 gauge I believe). I didn't win any guns (the Browning and Mossberg Tactical Turkey 12 gauge would've been nice) but I did luck out and one of my tickets was the first one drawn out for the general raffle so I got a new 15' ladder stand.

Our next event will be the opening day of youth season on September 26 as we will host a hunt for 10 kids at the Fairbanks Landing FWA in Sullivan County. I think 8 or 9 of those spots were filled at the banquet.

daybreak: Always loved Labor Day weekend. Time for those jet skis and speed boats to go back in storage and make room on the lakes for us fishermen again. (:))
