I fished Shakamak Lake this morning from Chase's kayak. The weather man was wrong as usual, suppose to be cloudy and woke to bluebird skies. Only caught two; decent bluegill and redear, using "dropshot" with beemoth and redworms. I'm not into kayak fishing, I only fished 2 hours and my butt was SORE! I'll stick to our little two man bass boat when fishing solo from now on. Shakamak Lake is experiencing an algae bloom right now, although it seemed to clear up some in the short time I was there. The bass were working the topwater in the lily pads right at sunup. Shakamak Lenape Kickapoo Bank fishing would be tough at any of the lakes. Shakamak and Kickapoo have lily pads around the edge and Lenape has moss. There are some small docks you can fish on each lake. I may try again tomorrow morning at Lenape or Kickapoo if the rain holds off. I promised Kim fish for supper, it's a good thing we still have some of Mom and Dad's Florida crappie in the freezer!

One secret to fishing those moss beds that you can't get a bait through is to buy some bullet floats and and use those with a texas-rigged tube. and in the lilys throw a lizard with no weight and no float.
