Smallies are fun. Mean fighters especially when you are working against current. What were you guys catching them on? Good catches, I need to get out and fish. Haven't fished in three weeks, may try to do a little fishing today.

The best bait that day for the smallies was zoom tiny brush hogs in watermelon red.

We have the best luck with 1/16th oz longshanked jig head with Riverside grubs. Berkleys work great but you go through them so quick it isn't economical. White and pumpkin seed are our favorites. Late summer mid day is the best time to go, smallmouth unlike there cousins feed heavily in the mid day. At least in streams they do.
