Late night snack/gas run to Buc-ees last night. The Ram did great on the drive down other than the gas mileage. I was getting about 18 driving back and forth to work. It dropped on the interstate once you get up about 65 so my average is down to just over 17 now.

Welcome to the dark side Troy. I'm ever so close to having my Durango paid off and shortly thereafter I'll dive right back in to debt to by a new(er) truck. I will also punish myself by not getting rid of anything. The Durango will continue to be my daily and the '04 Ram will continue to be the red headed step child as I will not want to do things in a new truck that I do in that one. I'm hoping to get a new one by spring. Back in March for the Texas trip we drove my buddies Rebel there. If he kept it 70ish we were floating around 17mpg.

Thanks Lee. ๐ I tell you what though, this is probably the best driving truck Iโve owned. Definitely the nicest interior. The only issue Iโve had at all so far is with the media system and my phone not jiving all the time. When I first got down here I lost sound on both my phone and in the truck. Reset the phone then had to look up how to do a reset on the radio which was simple; hold in the volume and tuner buttons. I was afraid I would lose all my presets but didnโt. Thatโs not a bad idea keeping your paid off vehicles. Wish I would have kept the F250.

I still can't believe how close I was to getting rid of my '04 and getting that '20 Ram. I'm glad things worked out the way they did or I would have regretted trading in the '04. The interest rate on the loan was just above 7%. I would've financed around $40k and that would've been $56K once it was paid off. Tack on the $7k down payment made it a $63K truck with my '04 in trade. As bad as I wanted that truck I know I did the right thing. My Durango was also paid off last Saturday. So now I sit here without a vehicle payment patiently waiting for the right time (and the next right truck) to come along. If I'm smart I'll wait another year...that's TBD.

I wasn't smart enough to wait...2019 Ram Bighorn, 42k miles, definitely a lot cushier riding than the silver truck. Also correct with the "punish" comment on not getting rid of anything.

Nice looking truck. I had a burgundy Ram back in the day. Baddest truck I ever owned. Not great gas mileage, but it would haul my boat down the highway like a beast.
