ive heard people say bluegill fight harder than any other fish. you thinks its true? i dont

I'd say pound for pound, bluegill stack up pretty well against about anything. They just don't get big enough. My personal favorite fighter though is definitely a small mouth bass. Those things are NUTS!!!

Pound vs pound, I'd have to go with the 'gill! They may not put on an aerial show like the bass, but them slabs can pull!

bluegill can definitely fight for their size. sometimes im not sure if I have a gill or bass until i see it. the hardest fighting fish in my book however is the common carp. but out of the bass or bluegill i would go with the bass.

I think if you got a 12oz blue gill vs a 12oz bass, ill have to go with a blue gill if you was fishing with a light action rod

its hard to compare them because a 12oz gill is big for the species and a 12oz bass is pretty small. yes the 12oz gill will fight harder but a bass that is big for its size like the 12oz gill is would fight just as hard. this is definitly a hard topic to decide on.
