the .30-06 has the power to bring down a deer even if the shot is a little off.

what is the law regarding rifle caliber in Indiana? Lets just say SHOTGUNS & muzzleloader is all we can use besides 410 now to and a few hand guns

does that law only apply to deer hunting? In Ohio, deer and turkey can only be taken with those same weapons but we can use any rifle caliber on all other game. I know there is a video of Chase using a .243 on coyote so I may have answered my own question.

I'm looking forward to trying out my Marlin 44 lever action or the H&R 500 mag for the upcoming season. If I can get money together which is highly unlikely I would like to build an AR-15 chambered in 458 socom to hunt deer with but even then it's not a top priority to get done. I would rather have a new bow set up for the upcoming season.

Wish we could use those in Indiana! found this old thread my take is i dont think it would be a good idea....maybe if everyone was a resopnsible hunter but thats not the case,,,,, i think theyre would be wayyyy to many stray bullets flying through the air

Wish we could use those in Indiana! found this old thread my take is i dont think it would be a good idea....maybe if everyone was a resopnsible hunter but thats not the case,,,,, i think theyre would be wayyyy to many stray bullets flying through the air I disagree! 1) most hunt from an elevated position, therefore the projectile is flying into the ground and not on a flat trajectory. 2) you CAN hunt with a 30-06, 35 rem., 444, 300 win mag etc.....in a Encore platform. so long as the barrel is 16" or less. I would LOVE to hunt with one of my .35's or my 30-06 down here.
