Yep. Have you seen the video of Chase fighting stingrays? This was actually in fresh water, on the St. Johns River in Astor, Fl. About 100 miles from the Atlantic, check it out:

I havent ever caught them but I want to. My friends dad used to fish for them and eels off a cliff near me.

when we were down fishing in hilton head with my cousin i accidentally got a 70 pounder on fishing, with a smaller pole that we were using to catch mackerel, and it about killed me hauling it in. It was like dragging up a parachute.
