The rain finally stopped yesterday so we threw some rods in the truck and headed to the coast. The surf was too rough to fish so we ended up in Flagler Beach on the intracoastal. No live bait to be found because of the hurricane so we bought some frozen shrimp and mullet and the usual artificials. I never caught a dang thing but Gail caught a small mangrove and a blue crab. I cut the crab up for bait and put a piece on for Gail. I had seen some huge tarpon cruising through and one decided to grab Gail's crab! She screamed, her drag was screaming, and the probably 6' beast leaped straight out of the water! When it was in the air it spit the tiny size 1 circle hook and splashed back into the river. I had my GoPro around my neck but after reviewing the footage all I have is the splash it made. The camera had taken too long to come on and the entire event had only lasted seconds. It was quite the show though as we were in a park and people had stopped to watch us fish. We will surely never forget it! I'll post the "splash down" still once I get it off the camera.

The image of that fish shooting straight into the air is burned into my brain. I really need to start carrying a battery pack and running the gopro in loop mode. I also recently purchased a Insta360 Ace Pro and 2 extra batteries that I could of been running that way.
