High Bridge (Volusia County) 1/30/23

Tried a new saltwater spot today. I’ve heard of “High Bridge” for years but had never been there for some reason. It was a nice place with a fishing dock that wrapped around underneath the east side of the bridge and had a bait shop called Yellow Dawg Bait and Tackle and nice restrooms.
We picked up 60 shrimp at the bait shop along with some frozen mullet. We caught a variety of fish but nothing really good. Catches included mangrove snapper, bluefish, puffer fish, blue crabs, whiting, and a catfish. The blue crab were thick and we might go back and target them. It was funny, we saw boats ranging in size from a 10’ jonboat to huge yachts. This would be a great place for the kayaks.
