So I had been looking at cameras lately but decided they cost to much to put one up at Astor Fish Camp. I was in Lowes yesterday and saw this Geeni camera I had never heard of. Googled it and it had great reviews and Lowes had it for $20 off at $39 so I grabbed 2. It didn’t say on the box what kind of batteries it took so I looked it up on YouTube and discovered this is a WIRED camera. Oh well, for that price I’ll find a plug in for one at least . It only comes with about 15’ of wire so you need a power supply close by. I have that in the laundry room so on the back porch it went. I’ll have a full video review but I wanted to post this in case anyone was looking for a cheap security camera. This camera will run stand alone with no base needed but it does require Wi-Fi. No subscription needed which was a must for me.

This camera seems to be doing alright, but the only actual activity I’ve had is that someone put our trash can up and I can’t see that. It’s picked up every vehicle that’s drove by but it didn’t pick up someone moving a trash dumpster from the driveway to the yard. I tried going back through the footage but I guess it only saves video when it has detected movement.

I just looked these up and it shows that they're still $39.99 at Lowe's until February 3rd. None in stock at Terre Haute but Bloomington has a few left. Might go get one for the homestead.

No bears on camera yet but I just had a marsh rabbit in the yard. 😀
