Ponce Inlet Nearshore/Inshore 4-26-22

Decided to do a last minute charter yesterday with Drop Em Down Fishing. Kind of disappointed in the trip. It wasn’t from Captain Eric’s lack of trying though, they just wouldn’t eat for some reason. Caught some fish but nothing great. Started about 12 miles up the coast off of Daytona. Gail caught a keeper black drum and we also added a couple weakfish and a blackspot pinfish. Other species were pinfish, soap fish, croaker, mangrove snapper, sea urchin, and Colton got his first sheepshead. Unfortunately Colt was seasick most of the trip. Well, he never actually got sick but he was on the verge most of the time.
After the first area we moved to the inlet and fished around the jetties and Gail caught a bluefish. There was a big school of redfish there but couldn’t get them to hit. Moved to another nearshore off of New Smyrna Beach but no luck even though we were marking tons of fish. Moved inshore to a couple spots before calling it a day. Colt and Gail used the fishing magnets around the dock while Eric cleaned the fish but no finds.
